Distance learning With “A Foot Above Training” you not only study what you want, when you want, but can be confident of receiving all the help and support you need as your studies develop. Our flexible distance learning courses have been specifically designed to give you, the student the convenience of studying from the comfort of your own home. You can either receive your course materials through the conventional postal system, on CD-Rom or very shortly you can opt to study online. Our home study courses allows you to study around time or lifestyle constraints. We have focused upon allowing our students to study when and where they like by removing fixed timings and durations. Our home study courses are recognised by a wide variety of groups, including employers, professional associations, and governing bodies. On successful completion of your home study course, you will receive an attractively presented Diploma or Certificate issued by our Training Director, allow you to use the letters AFA. Dip. or SAC. Cert. after your name. If you also complete a course accredited by one of our National Awarding bodies, you may receive another certificate from them, and be eligible for professional membership. Tutors, advice and support All of our students have access to their own personal tutor who is an experienced professional in their field of study. Your dedicated personal tutor is totally committed to helping you succeed and is always on hand to answer any query you may have, no matter how big or small. Assessment procedures Assessment is conducted via continual assessment by students completing a revision booklet at the end of the course module. This is then returned to their personal tutor for feedback. When a student is happy and they have demonstrated their understanding they will be invited to apply to sit a formal theory examination and in some cases a practical assessment. On some of the courses, there may be a need to submit case studies in order to gain qualification. It is intended that the assessment process for all of our courses is one which enables our students to demonstrate their understanding of the learning material and the practical application of concepts to the world of work. No enrolment times There are no terms, semesters, or specified intake dates for our exclusive flexible distance learning courses. You are welcome to enrol on any one of our courses all year round. This allows our students the freedom to plan their studies to fit in with their lifestyle or work commitments. Practical training Optional practical training is available for many of our courses. These practical training days are held at our clinic in the East Midlands, Untied Kingdom. The goal of our practical training is to provide students with on-the-job practical experience. Practical training in this context provides the opportunity for our students to apply the theory-based knowledge they have experienced during their course to "real-life" working situations and environments, with their personal tutor. Insurance Once you have successfully graduated from our course, our students able to secure Malpractice, Public Liability and Product Liability insurance cover, through BABTAC, which is available at a competitive rate.
