Aromatherapy Diploma

BABTAC Accredited Distance Learning Course

A Distance Learning course of 22 Units

This course has been designed for use in the complementary health therapies.

All essential oils are antiseptic and have different effects – some regulate metabolic function, some stimulate, whilst some others will soothe irritations and anxieties. Massage is used with the oils to enhance their effectiveness.

Essential oils can be used safely at home for many ailments. This programme of study will take the learner from the extraction process to the application of the oils for therapeutic purposes, as well as cover aromatherapy massage techniques.

Aromatherapy is one of the most widely used therapies and this course will enable you to successfully practice as an Aromatherapist.

Aromatherapy Diploma issued by A Foot Above Training, entitling you to use the letters AFA Dip after your name.

This course leads to an ASET Level 3 Award Certificate for successful learners. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to Level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework (NFQ) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSEs are at level 1 and 2 and A Levels are at Level 3).

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

In order to offer our students the most convenient and flexible distance learning courses, A Foot Above offer you the option of study for your course via two methods:

• Via the traditional paper-based method
• Via CD-Rom

With this course you will have unlimited access to your own personal tutor who specialises in their field of study. It is your personal tutor’s role to ensure that you receive constructive feedback and to deal with any queries you may have. You are more than welcome to telephone or email your personal tutor.

You will also have access to a dedicated and friendly team of administrators and course advisors who offer sound and professional guidance and advice when you need it. This ensures that you will never feel neglected and that you will always succeed.

This is only an approximate figure and is dependent upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 119 hrs.

At the end of the module will be a revision booklet with questions relating to your course material. This needs to be completed and submitted to your personal tutor for marking. This will help you and your personal tutor assess your readiness for your examination.

You will be required to submit 6 case studies of clients you have treated along with a theory and practical examination.
